Using Automatic Discounts

Discounts are a great way to convert abandoned carts into recovered sales. You can add an automatic discount to each one of Rivo's notifications. These unique discount codes are automatically generated when a customer clicks-through to checkout and they are single-use only. The discount is applied to the customer's order automatically once they click-through to checkout.

Adding a discount to your notifications is easy and can be done by selecting Edit > Edit Discount on any notification in the Automation flow.

To add a discount to any of your notifications follow these steps:

On the Automations page, click Edit on the notification.

Click Edit Discount.

Check the box and add your discount. There are two types:

Fixed - A fixed amount deducted from the total e.g. $5.00 off.
Percentage - A percentage of the order total e.g. 10% off.

When you've added your discount, click Save.

How discounts work

Rivo's discounts are applied automatically to the customer's order once they click the checkout link so they won't see the code until they click-through and land on the checkout page. You can let the customer know in your message that the discount will be applied at checkout.

How automatic discounts applied on click-through work for each notification:

Push: The customer clicks the push notification, bringing them to the checkout, with discount applied
Email: The customer clicks the checkout button, bringing them to the checkout, with discount applied
SMS: The customer clicks the checkout link (this is the {{ checkout_url }} variable), bringing them to the checkout, with discount applied
