Getting Started with Email notifications

Emails are a staple of any marketing and sales recovery campaign. In this guide we'll take a look at the basic settings for Email notifications to help you get set up in just a few clicks!

Email Settings

Customize your Email Settings to match your store's brand. To edit the Email Settings, from the dashboard, go to Settings and select Email.

Email Settings

Here you can adjust the From name and Email that is displayed on your Emails, as well as the Email address that replies will go to. By default these will be your store's brand name and the email address associated with your Shopify account.



From name - The name visible to customers in their inbox.
From email - The email address visible to customers receiving your email.
Reply email - Specify an email for customers to reply to your emails.

Design and Brand

This feature is available on our paid plans.

On the Email Settings page, click Edit Email Design.



From here you can:

Customize the colors of the texts and Checkout button.
Customize the radius of the Checkout button.
Add a banner image (1200px by 480px) or a logo image (400px by 144px).

Editing the Message

Customize the messaging of your Email notifications.



From the dashboard, go to Automation.

Find the Email notification you wish to edit and select Edit > Edit Message from the dropdown options.

From here you can edit all of the text fields for your Email notifications. You can also customize the design of your emails here by clicking Edit Email Design.

Click Send Test to receive a test Email and Save any changes once customized.

Note: The Footer Address can not be left blank; including a postal address for business and marketing emails is a legal requirement in many countries.

Editing the Wait Time

Choose how long to wait after the previous step in the Automation workflow.

On the Automation page, select Edit > Edit Wait Time on the Email notification.

Enter in your preferred wait time. You can choose to send after:

Minutes
Hours
Days
Weeks
Immediately

Adding a Discount

Add a unique discount code at checkout.

On the Automation page, click Edit on the Email notification.

Select Edit Discount.

Check the box Add unique discount code for every customer.

Add the discount. There are two types:

Fixed - A fixed amount deducted from the total e.g. $5.00 off.
Percentage - A percentage of the order total e.g. %10 off.

When you've added your discount click Save.

Note: The discount code does not appear in the Email but is applied automatically to the customer's order when they follow the Checkout link button.

Common questions

Can I change the email address to my custom domain?
Currently, automated emails are sent from '@mg.rivo-mail.com' but you can add a custom 'From Name' that precedes the domain address and set a 'Reply to' address as well. Using a custom domain is in the works!
